GES COCO LOGS

GES COCO LOGS

GES COCO LOGS are made from 100% natural coir fiber and covered by strong coir nettings. They are ideal selection for stream bank and shoreline stabilization. Coir fiber logs protect shorelines by reducing wave energy and safely maintaining lakeshore behind them. The coconut fiber in the logs provides a medium for the effective establishment of aquatic vegetation and over time, they will blend naturally into the aquatic environment . Numerous plants can be planted in logs and thereby creating a pleasing natural method of shore line protection. .

BENEFITS OF USING GES COCO LOGS

  • Easy to Install.
  • Environmentally Friendly.
  • Biodegrades Over 2-5 years.
  • Safe for Surrounding Wildlife.
  • High Air and Water Permeability.
  • Requires no Chemical Treatment.
  • Allows for Deep Rooting of Plants.
  • Helps Build into Existing Contours.
  • Provides Nutrients to Surrounding Areas.
  • Effectively Holds Seeds and Saplings in Place.

HOW IT WORKS?

GES COCO LOGS are used along streams of running water to protect against widening and soil erosion. The Coir Logs are made up of coir fiber or rolled up coir pads encased in coir nets. Coco Logs are widely used on Stream Banks, Sea Shores and Lake Shores for controlling the Sand Slide and provide protection against scour.

  • Easy to Install with pre-drilled holes every 2 feet.
  • Stakes can be used to secure the Logs as needed.
  • Construction Sites use Coco Logs for Retaining and Filtration.
  • Prevent Beach Erosion and hold Sand in place during Beach Restoration.
  • Allows Natural Vegetation to be planted right into the Coco Logs to begin the Restoration Process.
  • Marsh and Wetland Mitigation and Restoration Projects use these Plantable Coco Logs to establish new Wetland Plantings.

GES Coco Logs are also used in Desert Areas for controlling Sand Overcomes. In Shoreline/Stream Channel Applications, the Coco Logs are Resistant to the Forces of Water.

GES Coco Logs work as a brake on waves and reduces the impact of erosion. If the stream bed is lined with erosion control blankets and edged with Erosion Control Logs this helps keep the running water in check and also allows nature to take root in the form of algae etc.

PRODUCT DETAILS

GES Coco logs are 100 % natural material and 100 % biodegradable. It has high tensile strength. It adds fertility to the soil after biodegradation and is an excellent planting medium. It has high water absorbency, is easy to install, eco- friendly and also wild life safe. It can be produced in different thickness and length and can be delivered as per customer requirements.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

GES COCO LOGS are available in sizes from 12 inches to 20 inches and length from 10 to 20 ft long. There are two densities – Regular and High. The Regular density weighs 0.09 kgs per Cubic Meter and the High Density weighs .12 Kgs per Cubic Meter.

The parameters to be considered in the selection of product are flow velocity, wave height, stream energy, soil type and accessibility to the site. The GES Logs last for 2-5 years. As these logs biodegrade the plants develop well established root system in the sediment in the shoreline and keep the soil in place  preventing further erosion.

APPLICATIONS

  • Flowing Water Areas: Coir fiber rolls can be placed directly on the bank, often retaining fill material or securing new channel alignment.
  • Standing Water: Coconut coir logs are placed offshore to break waves and encourage sedimentation and re-vegetation. They can also be used for Wetland Stabilization. Other standing water applications include placing coir logs along Lake Shores or even Small Ponds to protect against erosion.
